GlassWire lets you visualize and manage network activity and WiFi security in real-time on your PC as well as on remote PCs and Servers. Instead of offering you complex charts of figures or TCP and UDP splits, the data visualizations of the software makes it easy to understand what’s happening with no more than a simple glance required.
GlassWire is perhaps the first software capable of making web monitoring interesting by displaying easy-to-understand, real-time graph. The graphs consist of peaks and troughs made by curved lines, and it gives you a better idea of trends in data use. It also comes with a Mini Graph widget to monitor at all times without having to open up the full application.
You can also go back in time with GlassWire’s network time machine and see what happened in the past, for example why is there a big spike in bandwidth yesterday morning! By just clicking on a spike you will know which applications used that data, and what IP addresses those were connecting to, and also what countries those hosts were in.
GlassWire also warns you about network related changes to your PC, suspicious internet activities by your apps etc. It is also possible to dive more deeply into data and see network usage statistics analytically by host, app, network traffic types or other categories. This way you can take control of the web usage and identify spyware, malware, buggy apps or bandwidth hoggers.
The Firewall module of the software does not interrupt you with prompts, as you can learn about any unintended connections by visualizing the graphs, and block the suspected ones. In times of infections or while leaving your computer for awhile you can turn on the Lock down mode to block all network connectivity. Furthermore, you can also turn on the “Ask to connect” mode to allow or deny new app connections. You can also make custom firewall profiles for different scenarios.
GlassWire notifies you when new unknown devices join your WiFi. You will also be alerted about WiFi Evil Twin and if your WiFi network suddenly loses its password. You can also monitor your server or computer remotely for business, gaming, VOIP applications, or web applications, etc.
